Today I would like to introduce our galvanized steel pipes, including pre-galvanized pipes and hot-dip galvanized pipes.
Many customers are interested in the differences between pre-galvanized pipes and hot-dip galvanized pipes. Let’s take a closer look.
First, from the surface appearance, pre-galvanized pipes usually have a brighter and smoother surface, while hot-dip galvanized pipes have a thicker zinc coating with a slightly rougher and more natural galvanized appearance.
The main difference lies in the production process. The raw material of pre-galvanized pipes is galvanized steel coil, which is directly formed and welded into pipes. For hot-dip galvanized pipes, black steel pipes are produced first and then immersed into a zinc bath for galvanizing.
For pre-galvanized pipes, the zinc coating weight is usually around 40g/m² to 150g/m². The common market requirement is approximately 40g/m². If a higher zinc coating weight is required, customized galvanized steel coils are needed, and the minimum order quantity is usually around 20 tons.
For hot-dip galvanized pipes, the zinc coating weight is generally from 200g/m² to 500g/m². Due to the thicker zinc coating, the price is relatively higher, but it provides better corrosion resistance and a longer service life.
In summary, pre-galvanized pipes are more economical and suitable for general applications, while hot-dip galvanized pipes provide stronger corrosion protection and are preferred for projects requiring longer durability.
